Dr Ailish Saker - Social Researcher
Ailish is a Social Researcher with professional experience working with young people and vulnerable groups.
Prior to joining Alma, she worked as a Research Associate at Cumberland Lodge where, in collaboration with the Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner, she delivered a report on practitioner responses to child trafficking and modern slavery. She has also worked as a Trial Supervisor at the University of Oxford and held a student advisory position for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
Ailish holds a DPhil in Criminology from the University of Oxford, where she carried out research on the experiences of victims of non-recent child sexual abuse in football. She also holds an MPhil in Criminology & Criminal Justice from Oxford, as well as a BA in American Studies (1st Class Honours) from the University of Sussex.
Ailish is a loyal supporter of the Leicester Riders, Britain’s oldest professional basketball team, and always appreciates a good pick n’ roll. She also enjoys taking long walks – many of which, mysteriously, seem to end in a pub. Baffling.
