Alastair (Ali) Brown - Director
Ali is a Director at Alma and an expert in data and analytics. In addition to leading projects for our clients, he oversees key internal processes as a member of our leadership team.
Prior to joining Alma, Ali was a Director at Deloitte, supporting clients across the UK public sector. He has worked with numerous UK government departments, including the Department for Education (DfE), Ministry of Justice (MoJ), Home Office and Cabinet Office.
Among other projects, Ali recently played a key role in the MoJ’s Data Improvement programme, leading work to deliver their departmental data strategy and improving how cross-Criminal Justice Sector data is shared, used, and managed.
He previously worked in the UK Civil Service, where he held roles in HM Treasury and the Cabinet Office after being selected for the Civil Service’s Fast Stream programme.
Ali holds an MSc in Operational Research from the University of Strathclyde, and a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Southampton.
In his spare time, he enjoys jamming on his guitar, playing golf, and going for a swim, often to retrieve some of his golf balls from the water. Yet nothing makes him happier than seeing Southampton back in the Premier League (so here’s hoping we do not have to edit this next year).
