Suzie Harrison - Senior Economist
Suzie is a seasoned economist with hands-on experience working in central government in the UK and overseas. Leading multidisciplinary teams, she has overseen the production of economic analysis and policy advice to inform ministerial decisions.
Prior to joining Alma, Suzie was Head of Migration at HM Treasury where she led on the design and delivery of high-skilled migration reforms, strategic work on migration policy at fiscal events, and the monitoring of migration data to inform policy analysis. In an earlier role as Policy Advisor, she contributed to HM Treasury’s engagement with the IMF and OECD. For the UK’s Department for Transport, she modelled policy impacts and delivered analysis and forecasts.
Suzie has further experience from the New Zealand Treasury, where she led a team delivering fiscal strategy advice for the Budget, helped shape fiscal policy in the wake of Covid-19, and contributed to the monitoring of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand.
Suzie has an MSc (Distinction) in Economic Policy from University College London and a BSc (Hons) in Economics from the University of Southampton.
She has completed several triathlons, enjoys hiking and camping, and has been to Glastonbury five times – basically, she’s happiest when in the great outdoors.
